HOULTON, Maine — Vital Pathways is looking for groups to apply for a Community Project Mini Grant with a maximum award of up to $1000. The grant may be divided into multiple awards based on proposals received.
Municipal governments and organizations within the following towns are eligible to apply: Amity, Cary Plantation, Hammond Plantation, Hodgdon, Houlton, Houlton Band of Maliseet, Linneus, Ludlow, Monticello, Littleton, Orient, Haynesville, and New Limerick.
Mini-grant proposals must promote the interest of your Community and will be judged by the following criteria:
Projects funded by mini-grants must address a need in the community that promotes wellness, healthy lifestyles, community spirit, or community beautification (such as planting trees, community gardens).
Great consideration will be given to the quality and completeness of the grant’s application.
A typed explanation of projects, not to exceed one-page, should: clearly explain the proposed project; provide the contact information for the individual responsible for the project implementation. (name, mailing address, telephone, email address); explain any additional support for this project and how this project will be sustainable; include a budget detailing the funding requested. Clearly state the funding amount requested up to $1,000; all funded projects must provide a final written report (minimum two paragraphs, maximum one page) describing the results of the community mini grant. If possible, please submit photos of the project; grant recipients must agree to allow project photos to be used in local newspaper articles, website and future Vital Pathways presentations; and list of permits that may be necessary to complete the project.
