A tractor trailer driver lost control of his rig on I-95 in Island Falls early Friday morning and drove into some trees, according to the Maine State Police.

Geary Bonville, 37, of Presque Isle was heading north in his 1986 Peterbilt truck and trailer at about 4:45 a.m. when he lost control, causing the semi to strike several sections of guardrail, leave the roadway and plow into a stand of trees, reported Trooper Caleb Adams.

Bonville was not injured but his Peterbilt sustained significant damage and had to be towed from the scene by Westerdahls Towing Service.

Personnel from the Maine Department of Environmental Protection also responded to handle some fuel that had leaked into a nearby waterway, Adams said.
