HODGDON, Maine — Hodgdon Middle-High School Principal Stephen Fitzpatrick has announced the honor parts for the Class of 2019. Katherine Sylvia Ledger has been named valedictorian, while Kora Mae Lambert was tabbed salutatorian and Dylan Griffith Jurson is first honor essayist.

Ledger, the daughter of Gordon Ledger of Amity and Nicole Ledger and the late Joseph Hoskins of Linneus, is a member of Hodgdon’s Chapter of the National Honor Society and has been the president of her class for the past three years. Ledger is passionate about music, having been a four year member of the school’s chorus. She also participated in the All Aroostook Chorus for six years and was cast as Sarabi in the most recent school play “The Lion King.” Additionally, Ledger participates in the school’s band and plays three different instruments — bass guitar, piano, and alto saxophone.
Ledger received numerous high school awards including: Student of the Month, the Phi Beta Kappa Science Achievement Award, Hodgdon’s Highest Average Award in Chemistry, as well as multiple recognitions in history, English, and science.
She will enter the University of Maine at Orono in the fall as a sophomore as she has already accrued 40 early college credits during high school. She will be majoring in animal and veterinary science and hopes to join the University Singers to fulfill her love of music.
Kora Mae Lambert was named salutatorian for Hodgdon Middle-High School for the Class of 2019.

Lambert is the daughter of Rebecca and Gerry Caron of Cary Plantation and Brad Lambert of Hodgdon. She is a member of Hodgdon’s Chapter of the National Honor Society and has been involved in many different activities during her four years at Hodgdon.
Lambert played both varsity basketball and softball all four years of high school and rose to captain of each team her senior year. Additionally, she was chosen to be a member of the All Aroostook Senior All Star Basketball team during her senior year. Along with an extensive athletic career, Lambert has also taken part in many volunteer activities during high school. She has spent three Halloweens assisting in the Linneus Haunted Hayride, contributed to the Peewee basketball program as a referee for four years, and taken part in multiple fundraisers for the school and other organizations.
This coming fall, Lambert will attend the University of Maine at Fort Kent in a four-year nursing program. After finishing her nursing degree, she plans at this time to work in a labor and delivery department.
Dylan Griffith Jurson was named first honor essayist at Hodgdon Middle-High School for the Class of 2019.

Jurson is the son of Diane Jurson of Houlton and Phil Jurson of Oakfield. He is a member of the Hodgdon Chapter of the National Honor Society and is the MPA Principal’s Award Winner.
Jurson has been an active member of the school community. He is a four-year member of the varsity soccer team and a two-year member of the varsity basketball team and received the Maine Varsity Club Award his senior year. He was a class officer for the entire four years of high school and participated in the Civil Rights Team for three years. He attended the Maine Youth Leadership Session his sophomore year and returned his junior year as a student ambassador.
Jurson has received commendations for his leadership and community service from the high school multiple times, receiving the coveted Golden Rule Award from the staff four times. He has participated in the summer at Just 4 Boys and has worked part time both at County Yankee and in the summer at Treeland Farms throughout his high school career.
After earning 45 college credits through early college and dual credits during high school, Jusron will attend the University of Maine at Fort Kent and major in Cyber Security.
