The Easton Alumni Association will hold their annual alumni banquet at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, at the Easton Elementary School cafeteria.
Supper will be served, and we are asking alumni to bring a salad or dessert to share. Alumni dues may be paid at the door.
We will be welcoming the class of 2019, and honoring the classes of 1969 and 1994, on their 50th and 25th anniversary of becoming alumni. They would love to have you join them.
Junior high math meet
On Wednesday May 22, the area middle school math teams held their final meet of the year at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, with Easton Junior High School participating.
The league includes students from grades 6, 7, and 8. They do three meets a year, one in the fall and one in the winter, both held at their respective schools, with a third meet in the spring at UMPI.
Leslie Carlow is the Northern Maine Math League director and she compiles the tests from the state to send them to all the schools. At the spring meet, scores are tallied from the year and awards are given to the students, including individual student awards for first, second and third place from grades 6, 7, and 8, along with a team award of first second and third place from each grade. A traveling trophy goes to the highest overall team for the year.
Blake King was a second-place individual award winner for grade 6, and Easton’s whole team placed third overall for the year for grade 6.
Teams involved are from Mars Hill on up through Fort Kent.
