HOULTON, Maine — On Tuesday, May 28, kindergarten students at Houlton Elementary School along with a parent or grandparent enjoyed a visit to “Down on the Farm Day.”

Each of the six kindergarten rooms hosted a farm themed learning activity for guests. Students received a special barn backpack to keep their items in that they received, as they made their way through each area of the farm.

Each of the classrooms hosted a different activity which included: music and movement, drawing, story-time, a reading activity, a listening time and math.
Kindergarten teacher Lori Soucy, dressed as a farmer, explains the schedule of the morning as the participants visit each of the classrooms. They spent about 20 minutes in each of the classrooms enjoying a variety of lessons.
