BAILEYVILLE, Maine — It is on to the Class D North championship for the No. 3-ranked Hodgdon baseball team following Saturday’s 8-3 upset victory over No. 2 Woodland.
Hodgdon (13-3 overall) is scheduled to face No. 1 Central Aroostook of Mars Hill (12-4) Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Mansfield Stadium in Bangor. That game could be moved to Wednesday, however, if the heavy rain that is predicted makes the field unplayable.
The Hawks and Panthers met twice during the regular season, with CA winning two closely-contested games. CA picked up an 8-4 win at Hodgdon May 6 and won 4-3 at Mars Hills May 24.
Individual results from Saturday’s semifinal with Woodland were not reported.
