LITTLETON, Maine — The Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum in Littleton will host the first summer meeting of the Aroostook Retired Educators Association at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2019.
The session will begin with registration, and a turkey dinner complete with homemade pies will be served at noon. The cost of the meal is $15.
Amanda Barker, a science teacher at Ashland District School, will share her experience as Maine’s representative to the National Geographic Institute’s program, Geo-Inquiry Process.
Once again AREA will continue to collect canned goods and nonperishable items to be distributed to local food pantries. This year the group will also continue the “Bulging Backpack” project, and will collect school supplies at each summer meeting to fill backpacks. One school from the central region of Aroostook County will receive this year’s donations.
Membership dues are $7 and all retired educators are encouraged to join to stay connected with students, share valuable information, renew friendships and be supportive of current educators.
