PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — A man who was suspected of creating a police standoff on the Chapman Road last month was arrested on June 13 for a second incident in the same area.
Maine Warden Service, Maine Border Patrol and other nearby departments were called in for the first incident, which initially was thought to be a hostage situation.
Presque Isle Police Department arrested Colby Doucette on charges relating to the May 29 incident.
According to the PIPD Facebook page, police responded on June 13 to a “report of a male being purposefully struck and dragged by a vehicle on Chapman Street.”
Police issued a temporary warrant to locate Doucette after evaluating the scene. He was finally arrested and brought to Aroostook County Jail where he appeared before a judge last week.
Along with previous charges, Doucette is facing additional charges including: aggravated assault, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, trespass, violation of conditions of release, operating a motor vehicle after a license revocation, and driving to endanger.
As of Thursday, Doucette was still at the County Jail. He is being held on a $2,500 cash bail, according to the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office.
