CARIBOU, Maine — The 2019 Caribou Rotary Club Cash Draw is underway, and club members expect tickets to sell quickly.
“Our goal is to not only serve and support our community, but to keep this year’s event fun,” said Carla Thibodeau, Rotarian and Cash Draw chairperson. “We’ve partnered once again with Northern Maine Brewing and their third annual Brewfest to be held Saturday, Aug. 3, from 4 in the afternoon till 10 p.m.”
This draw is the club’s primary fundraiser and has allowed the organization to complete numerous community projects. Some of the projects the club has helped to sponsor include the ski building at the Caribou High School, dugouts at the ball field on Sincock Street, playground equipment at Hilltop Elementary School and Rotary Youth Exchange.
This year’s fundraiser will allow the group to continue its long tradition of service above self.
“Be prepared to hear from one of our Rotarians who will assist with your Cash Draw tickets and answer any questions,” said Thibodeau.
In addition, donations enable the Rotary Club to continue supporting programs of the Caribou Recreation Department, Caribou School System, Caribou Public Library and Caribou Little League, and to provide bicycle helmets annually to all third-graders in Caribou and four surrounding communities.
Thibodeau added, “If you live in Caribou or the central Aroostook region, chances are very good that you or someone you know benefits from a Caribou Rotary Club project or donation.”
No more than 1,000 tickets will be sold, so chances of winning are 1 in 20. Tickets cost $60 each, or $50 each for two or more. The purchase of a ticket includes admission for one to the drawing, Brewfest and live entertainment. Ticket holders will purchase their own food and beverages.
This year’s prizes are $5,000, first prize; $4,000, second prize; along with two $1,000 prizes, two $500 prizes, five $250 prizes and 40 $100 prizes.
Tickets are available from any Caribou Rotarian.
