HOULTON, Maine — The Houlton Parks and Recreation Department’s “Just for Kids” summer playground program sponsored its annual Peanut Carnival Parade through downtown Houlton Wednesday morning.
Children enrolled in the Just for Kids summer program participate in the parade each year, tossing peanuts to the many spectators who line the sides of Main Street and Market Square. Many of the children dress in costumes, while older youths ride their decorated bicycles.
