The 30th annual County Open will assist the Health Services Foundation with Phase III of a $350,000 multi-equipment fundraising effort for Houlton Regional Hospital. Phase I and Phase II were a huge success due to the generosity of County Open participants and now, organizers have stated.
On Friday, Aug. 9, the Slice Restaurant at VaJoWa Golf Course will donate $1 from every “Fish Fry Special” to the County Open.
Houlton Community Golf Course hosts the event on Saturday, while a scramble will be held on Sunday, at VaJoWa.
On Saturday evening, the Lakeside Restaurant at the Houlton Golf Course will host an event dinner. A social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. The cost is $50 per person.
Golfers in the tournament are placed in one of five divisions — Men’s A/B/C Senior and ladies divisions. Tee off times will be posted on the group’s website: http://countyopen.com/wp. Registration is limited to 72 players, resulting in faster play and more enjoyable golf.
