Students and staff from the Loring Job Corps Center’s military prep program and members of the Caribou VFW traveled to Frenchville recently to provide a full color guard send-off for WWII veteran Armand Martin as he embarked on his Honor Flight to the nation’s capital.
Martin flew from northern Maine to join 45 fellow military comrades on the journey, which took them to the many memorials in Washington, D.C. Not only is Martin a WWII veteran; he is also 100 years old and still going strong. The Loring students were honored to meet him and conducted a full colors ceremony in his honor prior to his boarding. The students remained and saluted the plane on its takeoff.
