The Francis Malcolm Science Center will take “Starlight and Cosmic Color” with director Larry Berz on the road from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 30.

New faces at school
The Easton School Department welcomes more new faces to the staff and faculty.
Kim Warren serves as Easton’s school nurse, and Sharon Jackson has become an ed tech at Easton Elementary School.
Golf for charity
The Easton Fire Department and the Pine Tree Burn Foundation challenge all Aroostook County first responders to a golf scramble on Sunday, Sept. 1, to benefit the foundation.
The scramble will start at 10 a.m. at the West Ridge Road Golf Course.
Easton Fire Chief Greg White said, “We are reaching out to other departments and first responders all across The County to join us. It’s a family-friendly event, so I hope they bring their spouses and the kids. This is a chance for all of us to enjoy a little summer and donate to a worthy cause.”
The Pine Tree Burn Foundation is dedicated to fire and life safety education, awareness and prevention, and supports emergency treatment of fire and life safety injuries.
The scramble is open to all ages and is a family-friendly event. Fire department personnel will be on site providing food. The foundation will be there to offer information and will have commemorative coins available for purchase.
A donation of $75 is suggested for the sponsoring town/community. Multiple four-person teams and children can play for no additional cost. Pre-registration is strongly recommended for the event. For more information or to register, contact Jennifer White at 207-227-8633.
Bone Builders
Bone Builders class will meet Mondays and Fridays starting at 9:45 in the Recreation Room at the Manor.
Bone Builders is a free strength training, balance and exercise program. To be successful, one should commit to attending twice a week for six months. Each one-hour classes, held twice a week, will increase muscle strength, balance and bone density.
This program is offered through Area on Aging, Cary Medical Center and the Easton Recreation Department. For more information, contact Julia Allen.
