CARIBOU, Maine — The middle school soccer season is officially underway for the Caribou Vikings. At Fort Fairfield Aug. 22, it was the Tigers who were victorious with a 2-1 double-overtime victory over Caribou.
Kaden Ala scored both goals for Fort Fairfield, including the game winner with one minute left in the second overtime period.
Caribou’s Dylan Bouchard scored the only goal for Caribou. Others who played well defensively for the Vikings in the contest were Mason St. Peter, Keegan Bell, Cooper Ouellette, Jace Violette, and Eyzic McBreairty Bouchard.
“It was an exciting game and well played by both teams,” said Caribou coach Steve Perreault said.
On Aug. 28, the Vikings fell 6-1 to visiting Madawaska. Dylan Bouchard scored the lone goal from a Brayden Brescia assist. Others playing well for Caribou were Joe Peter Paul, Michael Hill, Ty Hunter, Xavier Deschaine, Marshall Hersey, Trent Hersey and Logan White.
“Madawaska jumped to the early 6-0 lead by halftime and prevented Caribou from ever getting into an offensive flow,” the coach said.
On Aug. 29, Caribou battled Presque Isle white to a 3-3 double overtime tie. Scoring for the Vikings were Brescia, Owen Corrigan, and Damarian Gagnon. Brescia and Corrigan also picked up assists.
