PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Going Places Network has announced local bank Katahdin Trust as the presenting sponsor of the PI Loop, a new transportation solution for the Presque Isle community.
Announced earlier this summer, The PI Loop will be a continuous bus loop with multiple strategic stops around the city of Presque Isle. The bus route will provide community members of all ages a mode of transportation to and from work, school, healthcare, businesses, and retail locations in the area.
“We believe that this is an important project for the residents of Presque Isle and are pleased to be a supporter,” said Krista Putnam, senior vice president of marketing for Katahdin Trust.
“The bank is committed to supporting activities that add to the quality of life of individuals and families in our local communities,” Putnam said. “The PI Loop will help provide much-needed access to dependable, reliable, and affordable public transportation.”
The bank is also one of the founding collaborative partners of the Going Places Network of community leaders.
“With Katahdin Trust’s support as the first-ever presenting sponsor, we will not only be able to connect commuters to the community, but additionally, through their efforts and commitment, be able to help improve the quality of life for those living in the Star City,” said Jamie Chandler, who along with LeRae Kinney co-chairs Going Places Network.
The PI Loop will feature a brand-new metro-style bus and is anticipated to begin its route in October 2019.
