Travis Milton, left, enjoys breakfast with his daughter Aria the first day of Kindergarten Sept. 3. The doors to Mill Pond School opened a few minutes early on the first day of the new school year. Parents and guardians were invited to share in the excitement of the first day of school by accompanying their children to school and eating breakfast with them in the cafeteria . After breakfast, the parents walked their children to the classrooms and attended a brief informational meeting in the gym.
