HOULTON, Maine — The Houlton golf squad is enjoying much success on the links this season, as evidenced by an impressive 7-2 record. The Shires have just a few matches remaining on the schedule before competing in the Penobscot Valley Conference championship on Saturday, Oct. 5.
On Sept.18, at Houlton Community Golf Course par 36, the Shires beat Central 175-274. For the Shires, the individual results were: Isaac Vega 37, Collin Moody 42, Garette Harvey 46, Kollin Irish 51, Matt Seder 60, Madalyn 60, Gage Bartlett 60, Sidney Peabody 65, and Abigail Fitzpatrick 74.
For Central, results were: Coby Campbell 56, Jacob Cousins 65, Ethan Whitty 70, Alex Chadbourne 83, Joe Leadens 86.
On Monday, Sept. 16, at Barnes Brook Golf Course Par 36 course, the Shires were victorious over Penobscot Valley High School. The Shires shot 190 on the day. Individual results were Moody 41, Vega 42, Harvey 51, Seder 56, Quirk 59, Peabody 63, Fitzpatrick 65, Irish 52, and Bartlett 54.
