We have had an outstanding week. Cool crisp temperatures to start the week off and finishing with a grand last day of summer. The golf course is in excellent shape. Now is the season of great golf and beautiful scenery. I hope you all will take advantage of this and play a round.
The Ladies Association held their season closing banquet Tuesday evening, Sept. 17, at the home of Holly McPartland. Twenty-two women attended and had a great time. Year end awards went to Sarah Howland, most birdies; Pam Mailman, fewest putts; Marion Collins, most improved; and tied for most pars were Brittany Benn and Kayla Martinez.
The Ryan Wright/Elks Scramble was held on Saturday with 26 players enjoying the golf and the weather. The team of Porter and Marty Gervais and Brian and Josh McGuire were the winners. Now all our seasonal tournaments have been played and the course is wide open.
Keep an eye here for any spontaneous tournaments.
Don’t forget the deal for new members – buy your membership now and you can play for free the remainder of the season. Existing members will be able to lock in this year’s fees for next year. Click here for a membership form to complete and mail in or bring to the club.
High School golf season is winding down. Hodgdon High will host the Aroostook League Regional Golf Championships on Thursday. We will have six school teams competing in an eighteen hole format. The course will be closed from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please call the pro shop to verify times you can play that day.
The Lakeside Restaurant will be open through mid November. And here’s some good news – Paul LaPointe will play on Oct. 25 at the Octoberfest Celebration. Call Nancy at 694-9494 for reservations for this and any dinner engagement.
Just a quick note on golf car etiquette. Please keep carts on cart paths around tees and greens. Carts should always be kept at least thirty feet from the green surface. Obey cart directional signs. Please treat our rental carts as if they were yours and drive carefully. With care they will be around for a long time. Enjoy your time on the course and I hope to see you soon.
