FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine — A 28-year-old Fort Fairfield man pleaded guilty to sexually exploiting a child and possessing child pornography Thursday in Bangor Federal Court.
Kyle Sirois produced video files depicting child pornography sometime between March 2015 and October 2017,according to court documents.
He also possessed other images and videos of children engaging in sexually explicit conduct, which he had purposefully sought out and received through the internet, U.S. Attorney Halsey B. Frank said in a media release, citing court documents.
Frank stated that the images and videos in Sirois’ possession depicted the sexual exploitation of “prepubescent children under the age of 12.”
Sirois is facing a possible sentence of 15 to 30 years in prison for the child sexual exploitation offense, and up to 20 years for possessing child pornography. He’s also facing a $250,000 fine and between five years to a lifetime of supervised release.
He will be sentenced after the completion of a presentence investigation report by the U.S. Probation Office, Frank stated on Thursday.
Fort Fairfield Police initially investigated the case along with the Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
