PRESQUE ISLE and CARIBOU, Maine — Aroostook Savings & Loan has announced the awarding of scholarships to two dedicated, local high school graduates pursuing their higher education. Each recipient will receive a scholarship of $1,000 per year, up to $4,000, throughout their college career.
The awarded scholarship recipients have demonstrated academic excellence, community service, and participation in sports and clubs where they held leadership positions.
Madison Jandreau, a 2019 Presque Isle High School graduate, is a freshman at Bates College majoring in biology/pre-med. She is the daughter of Stacy and Daniel Jandreau.
Molly Kingsbury, a 2019 Presque Isle High School graduate, is a freshman at the University of Maine at Presque Isle majoring in business. She is the daughter of Robb and Kristi Kingsbury.
Aroostook Savings & Loan President John Swanberg expressed, “We understand the importance of education and recognize the rising costs of tuition. We are pleased to know that the scholarships awarded by Aroostook Savings & Loan will help alleviate some of the student’s financial burden, so they can focus on their future educational and career goals. Since its inception in 1999, the Aroostook Savings & Loan scholarship program has awarded $159,000 in scholarships to local graduates. The scholarship program awards Aroostook County students who have exemplified community service through their volunteer efforts, been successful academically, and have a financial need.
