Less political expense, more representation

To the editor:

I cannot understand why, after a U.S. president is elected to represent all Americans, they are allowed to do what they are allowed to do.

This is by both parties, Republicans and Democrats.

Shortly after elected to represent all Americans, they are on the campaign trail to get one or more of their special senators or representatives elected with a big rally, telling all of the great things they have done in and for our government, and yet belittling their opposing candidate.

Why do we as taxpayers allow all the expenses that go into travel, hotels, meals, extra security and anything else that may come up?

I believe when we elect a president, he or she should be representing you, me and all Americans, not just those that believe the same as they do, or those they think believe the same as they do.
