BANGOR, Maine — Since 1990, Junior Achievement of Maine’s Business Hall of Fame has honored the state’s most distinguished businessmen and women for their outstanding contributions to free enterprise and the promise of a better, stronger society.
At the 5th anniversary of the event in northern Maine, two business leaders will be welcomed as laureates into the Junior Achievement of Maine Business Hall of Fame in an induction ceremony that will take place at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bangor.
The Junior Achievement Maine Business Hall of Fame laureates for 2019 are Kris Doody, chief executive officer of Cary Medical Center; and Samuel Collins, president of S.W. Collins Company.
The two honorees join a distinguished group of 100 men and women who have been inducted into the Junior Achievement of Maine Business Hall of Fame. Junior Achievement of Maine President Michelle Anderson expressed her excitement about the recent announcement.
“We are pleased to honor these three influential Maine business leaders this fall,” she said. “The electric atmosphere at our Business Hall of Fame event always sparks an engaging discussion around building our future workforce and how businesspeople like Kris and Sam are helping to lead us to a stronger future.”
Drawing over 200 local business and community members, the November event also brings students from the local community to share their JA experience with the crowd.
