New Ventures offers self-employment session

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — New Ventures Maine will offer a free introductory business planning workshop at the Presque Isle Career Center on Thursday, Dec. 12, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Karin Petrin, Microenterprise Coordinator for New Ventures Maine in Aroostook County and the trainer for the workshop, said, “This class answers the many questions related to business ownership and start up so you can decide if self-employment may be right for you and helps get you pointed in the right direction.”

This one-session workshop will help participants decide if self-employment is the right choice. The class covers the pros and cons of owning a business, the steps needed for start-up, the major elements of a business plan, and the many resources within Aroostook County and statewide.

All entrepreneurs who are interested in starting a business are welcome, as are business owners who want a refresher on business planning, marketing and financial cash flow planning.
