PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Northern Maine Community College announced its College Info Night will be held tonight, Tuesday, Dec. 10, one week later than originally planned due to weather. The session is designed to inform area residents interested in learning about their options for higher education and training offered by the college.
The event will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Akeley Student Center. As an incentive, NMCC will waive the course registration fee for those who attend and sign-up for a course.
College officials will be on hand to share information with anyone interested in learning more about the College and the variety of courses, certificates, and associate degree programs offered through NMCC. Individuals are welcome to stop in at any time to speak with a NMCC representative.
“Info Nights are designed to answer questions that someone might have about the college,” said William Egeler, NMCC dean of students. “If you are unsure of either beginning or returning to college, an Info Night session may be the first step to making that important decision.”
In addition to information on courses offered at the College, Info Night attendees will be able to learn more about financial aid available to many students. A recent cost comparison affirmed that NMCC and its sister campuses in the Maine Community College System offers the lowest public higher education tuition rate in the New England region, at $94 per credit hour.
