Wintergreen nets grant to expand digital arts

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Wintergreen Arts Center recently received a grant in the amount of $10,000 from the Davis Family Foundation to expand digital arts programming to middle and high school students.

“We are grateful to the Davis Family Foundation for this very generous grant as well as for their continued support on many levels over the last decade,” said Dottie Hutchins, Wintergreen’s executive director.  “Wintergreen is fortunate to be the recipient of the kind of dedication the Davis Family Foundation extends toward cultural and arts organizations.”

Historically, the Wintergreen Arts Center’s programming has primarily focused on children’s arts education for students ranging in age from preschool through the eighth grade.  Funding from this Davis Family Foundation grant will expand Wintergreen’s programming to include students up through the twelfth grade.

“With the help of this much needed and appreciated grant,” said Hutchins, “We now seek to attract more middle and high school students to Wintergreen, and we believe offering high-quality digital arts instruction will open our doors to opportunities for older students.”
