PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — A Monticello man got in two car crashes and caused three vehicles to be towed within one hour on Tuesday after police believe he suffered symptoms from an unknown medical condition.
Presque Isle Police said that around 4 p.m. Michael Lynch, 68, of Monticello, was involved in a crash with Regina Craig of Presque Isle on North Main Street. The damage to Craig’s vehicle required towing, and she was transported to the hospital by Presque Isle Ambulance.
Lynch did not suffer injuries related to the crash and refused an offer of medical transport.
Just one hour later, Lynch was westbound on Connector Road when he wove into the opposite lane of traffic, striking the vehicle of Aaron Sherman of Presque Isle in a head-on collision. Both cars received what Presque Isle Police called “disabling damage” and were towed.
Presque Isle Police suspected that Lynch had experienced the effects of an unknown medical condition and that this medical episode had contributed to both crashes. He was transported to receive medical treatment after the second crash.
Along with the Presque Isle Police and Presque Isle Emergency, the Presque Isle Fire Department responded to the crash.
Craig’s condition is currently unknown.
