HOULTON, Maine — A Smyrna woman was arrested and charged with drug offenses after a traffic stop in Houlton.
The incident occurred on Dec. 13 just after 1 a.m., Houlton Police Chief Tim DeLuca said.
Officer Travis Smith initiated a routine traffic stop on North Road in the area of Market Square, Deluca said on Friday.
Two people were in the vehicle, including the driver and passenger, Jenny M. Chambers, 28, of Smyrna and Micah C. Ryan, 27, of Houlton, he said.
Smith allegedly saw drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, and a subsequent search of the vehicle turned up additional drug paraphernalia and scheduled drugs, the chief said.
Chambers was charged with unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs, a felony.
She was later released on bail.
