Maine State Police Troop F Report, Jan. 6-12, 2020

HOULTON, Maine — The Maine State Police Troop F barracks in Houlton responded to a number of calls for service during the period of Jan. 6-12, including the following.

Tuesday, Jan. 7

CRYSTAL: Cpl. Quint was conducting traffic enforcement on State Route 159, Crystal, and observed a pickup speeding.  The truck was stopped, and it was discovered the man had a suspended Maine driver’s license and did not have proof of insurance.  Cpl. Quint issued the man a criminal summons for operating after suspension and a traffic summons for the insurance violation. The man arranged to get himself and the vehicle back to his residence.

CASTLE HILL: Tr. Casavant took a theft complaint from the resident of an apartment in Castle Hill.  The woman had recently moved from the property and it appears that at some point during the transition the property had been left unlocked and some items had been stolen.  The landlord and tenant had been at odds over the condition the apartment had been left in, and Tr. Casavant continues to follow up on the case.

OAKFIELD: Tr. Saucier charged a local man for operating after suspension after pulling him over for traffic infractions on the River Road in Oakfield.  The man’s right to operate had been suspended for several things including operating under the influence.

Thursday, Jan. 9

STACYVILLE: Cpl. Quint was conducting traffic enforcement on State Route 11, Stacyville.  He observed a vehicle with an expired Maine inspection certificate and conducted a traffic stop.  The driver admitted to not registering the vehicle and was using an expired transit placard. He also had no proof of insurance for the vehicle.  Cpl. Quint issued the man a criminal summons for the unregistered motor vehicle and a traffic summons for not having proof of insurance.

PERHAM: Tr. Levesque, Cpl. Hafford and Tr. Casavant along with the US Marshal’s Service arrested James Clark for several outstanding warrants.  Surveillance was set up and James Clark was identified as a passenger in a vehicle, the vehicle was stopped in Caribou and James Clark was taken into custody without incident.  Also in the vehicle was Kyli Harris who had several warrants. The driver was also charged with hindering apprehension.

Friday, Jan. 10

St. JOHN PLT.: Tr. Desrosier investigated the theft of a motor vehicle from St. John.  The vehicle owner reported the car missing and suspected her son stole it from her home.  Tr. Desrosier, working with Fort Kent PD, located the vehicle and the suspect. He was taken to Fort Kent PD and issued a criminal summons for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.  The car was returned to its owner.

CARIBOU: Tr. Levesque, Cpl. Hafford, Tr. Bell and  Sgt. Fuller assisted Caribou PD with a shooting they had on the River Road in Caribou.

Saturday, Jan. 11

SILVER RIDGE: Tr. Saucier arrested a local man for operating under the influence of alcohol.  The man drove his vehicle off the road and was stuck in the snow when Tr. Saucier located him.  He was arrested without incident and transported to the Aroostook County Jail.
