Snow club reschedules auction

Due bad weather, the Chapman Ridge Runners Snowmobile and ATV Club postponed their annual January fundraising auction at the clubhouse.

They announced last week the auction will be held at 6 p.m. this Saturday night, Feb. 8, and will be an evening filled with lighthearted fun and delicious treats.

The Appetizer and Dessert Game Night will become the Great Appetizer, Dessert and Auction Night. Treats will be followed by a short meeting, after which the rescheduled annual auction will take place. Folks planning to attend are asked to bring a favorite appetizer or dessert to share.

Plan to come and have a good time.  For more information, contact Susan Maynard at 764-1236.

The Ridge Runners’ monthly board of directors’ meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. tonight, Feb. 5, at the clubhouse.  The board will review grooming and club business needs. There will be discussions of reports by trail groomers report on snow and trail conditions.  The cub is hopping this time of the year with trail grooming and their special events.

The trail groomers are very pleased with current snow conditions and they perfect for good sledding.  They also report the logging is finished on the Swanback trail (105 south) and it is open and groomed all the way to the connection with the Walker Siding Club. So now is a good time to get out and ride and remember this Saturday will be a terrific night to come have fun and treats at the clubhouse.

First Friday luncheon

The monthly First Friday Luncheon is scheduled at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 7 at the Mapleton Methodist Church.

Come out and enjoy a terrific meal prepared by the First Friday chefs. Being just a few days before Valentine’s Day,  the chefs will be preparing the foods you love.

The food is always delicious, but the real joy is being with long-time friends as well as making new friends and sharing family updates, stories and memories.   Remember there is no charge for the lunch, but donations will be accepted.

February senior luncheon

Please accept my apologies for listing the wrong date for this week’s seniors luncheon, which was held this past Monday.

The next luncheon for the Mapleton, Chapman and Castle Hill Senior Citizens group is scheduled at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 17.

Caroline Ballerstein reminds everyone over age 55 who lives in Central Aroostook that you are invited to attend and join the group.  Please keep in mind the luncheon is potluck.
