CARIBOU, Maine — Pines Health Services has announced that County native Dayna St. Peter, RN-BSN, FNP, has joined the Caribou Health Center team as a family nurse practitioner.

“Pines is exceptionally pleased to have Dayna joining our team of providers, said Pines Chief Operating Officer Lisa Caron.  “She brings over six years of nursing experience to her new role, and until just recently was an active member of the Cary Medical Center nursing staff. In addition to her clinical experience, she has a deep understanding of the Aroostook County culture and our residents.”

St. Peter graduated from Northern Maine Community College with an associate’s degree in nursing and completed her bachelor’s degree in nursing through the University of Maine at Fort Kent. St. Peter started her master’s program with Walden University and graduated from the family nurse practitioner program and completed 640 hours of clinical rotations in family medicine.

In her new role as a mid-level provider, she looks forward to working with patients at the Caribou Health Center and collaborating with active medical staff at Cary Medical Center. She welcomes all patients who are in need of a primary care provider.

Family nurse practitioners are advanced practice registered nurses with specialized educational and clinical training in family practice who serve as primary healthcare providers either autonomously or in conjunction with physicians. Family nurse practitioners work with patients throughout their lives, diagnosing illness, conducting exams and prescribing medication.

In her spare time St. Peter enjoys spending time with her husband Stephen, Golden Retriever Indy and assisting with operations at her family’s Christmas tree farm. She likes to stay active by running daily, kayaking, hiking and paddle boarding.
