Craft Fair to support Mapleton Daze

The Mapleton Daze Committee will host their annual Spring Craft Fair and Vendor Sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, at the Mapleton Lions Club — just in time to get your Mother’s Day shopping done.

They will have lots of homemade items and vendor items for sale.  Mapleton Daze is pleased to support the small communities of Mapleton, Chapman and Castle Hill and the local crafters and vendors who reside close by.

The committee will have lots of goodies for sale, raffle tickets for a smoker and fire pit, and all occasion boxes of cards– all proceeds will go towards the financial support needed for Mapleton Daze Weekend in June.

Some of the items available will include homemade herbs and teas, paintings, stained-glass suncatchers, wood carving and unique gifts.

Watch this column as new details of the fair are made available. The Mapleton Daze Committee suggests readers can learn more about the fair at their Mapleton Daze Facebook page.

Ridge Runners

The Chapman Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club will hold its next regular directors’ meeting tonight, Wednesday, March 4, at 6:30 p.m.

The club’s special social event for March will be a soup and sandwich night with a fun Bingo tournament, slated to begin at 6 p.m. this Saturday evening, March 7.  Sue Maynard asks for those attending to bring either a soup or bunch of sandwiches. This is always one of the most enjoyable evenings of the winter.

If you need more information, please call Sue Maynard at 207-764-1236.

First Friday Luncheon

The next First Friday Luncheon is scheduled for Friday, March 6, at the Mapleton Methodist Church at 11:30 a.m.  Come out and enjoy a terrific meal prepared by the First Friday chefs.

Because March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb, the chefs will be preparing foods for the change of seasons and the change to daylight savings time.

The food is always delicious, but the real joy is being with long-time friends as well as making new friends and sharing family updates, stories and memories.

Remember there is no charge for the lunch, but donations will be accepted.

March senior luncheons

The next luncheon for the Mapleton, Chapman and Castle Hill Senior Citizens will be Monday, March 16.

Caroline Ballerstein reminds everyone over age 55 and lives in Central Aroostook, you are invited to attend and join the group.  Please keep in mind the luncheon is potluck.
