WOODLAND, Maine — Woodland Selectmen decided during an emergency meeting at 2 p.m. Sunday to postpone the election and annual town meeting scheduled for this week due to concerns surrounding COVID-19, according to Amber Moutinho, administrative assistant to the Board of Selectmen.
Until more definitive information surrounding the pandemic is available, the board has decided not to release a specific date for the election and town meeting.
On March 17, the town closed its municipal office to the public for an indefinite period of time based on Gov. Janet Mills’ recommendation. Staff will be on duty to take phone calls and emails during regular business hours.
Officials ask that any Woodland residents in need of an essential transaction, call the town office at 207-498-6133 and make an appointment beforehand.
