SAD 1 providing free student meals

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The SAD 1 school nutrition program has begun offering free local emergency food services to all children age 18 and younger.

Lunch service began Monday, March 16, and will continue through Friday, March 27. Meals will be distributed Monday through Friday on a “grab and go” basis, and may be eaten away from the delivery site, according to SAD 1 Food Service Director Kathy Allen.

Lunch and the following day’s breakfast will be available at time of pickup. Meals for Saturdays and Sundays will be provided on Fridays.

Micmac Drive: 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Birch Street Apartments: 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Ray View Manor: 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Helen Noreen Apartments: 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Sargent Family Community Center: 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Westfield Town Office: 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Presque Isle High School lobby, by nurse’s entrance: 11 a.m. to 12 noon.

Pine Street Elementary School main entrance, 11 a.m. to 12 noon.

Mapleton Elementary School main entrance, 11 a.m. to 12 noon.

Zippel Elementary School main entrance, 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
