Masons — There is a movement under way in Caribou to form a stock company composed of Masons, for the purpose of building a large Masonic building on Main Street. A meeting has been called for tonight to consider the project.

Opening — Watch for the opening of L.S. Hall Company’s bargain basement. The cellar of the store is now under repairs for this new addition to the store.
50 Years Ago – March 25, 1970
Cyr Foods — Cyr Foods Inc. in Caribou reopened this week after potato growers reportedly agreed to let the company reduce the amount of potatoes it will take on contract.
Sleepers — Sleepers Shopping Center is planning a major expansion this spring. The store will add another 1,000 square feet of space for all departments in the fourth major expansion of the store.
25 Years Ago – March 22, 1995
CHS band wins state jazz fest — Caribou High School musicians took top honors in last weekend’s 1995 State Instrumental Jazz Festival held in Caribou. The Caribou High School Jazz Band placed first in Division II Jazz Bands.
Flax comes to Aroostook County — An interim lease for a flax storage building at the former Loring Air Force Base is about a week away, according to base reuse officials. The Air Force Base Conversion Agency is expected to approve the one-year lease for one the former nose dock hangers. Flaxamerica Inc. is the company interested in setting up flax storage and scutching mill at the base.
