PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — TD Bank recently recognized the work of Aroostook County Action Program and their efforts to increase job readiness in Aroostook County by awarding them with the necessary funding to purchase a tool to help with employment.

The Employment Readiness Scale is an online tool that helps clients identify their strengths and challenges in becoming employment ready and measures their changes over time. It also provides organizations with roll-up reports across clients for use in program planning, evaluation and accountability reporting.

The scale offers a unique combination of benefits to individuals, agencies providing career and employment services, and sponsors who fund the provision of such services. It is currently the only known standardized and outcome validated measure of employment readiness.

“Increasing job readiness in Aroostook County will help to strengthen our communities by preparing individuals to enter or excel in the workforce,” said Danielle Steele, assistant store manager at TD Bank. “We look forward to partnering with ACAP on future community efforts to increase job readiness in Aroostook County.”

“ACAP’s Workforce Development Team works with individuals to assist them on their journey to obtain the skills necessary to gain employment or to move to a higher paying position or career,” said Erin Benson, Program Coordinator of Workforce Development at ACAP.

The team works closely with higher education centers and employers to ascertain the needs of the community, including local employers that are currently struggling to find employees with the skills that they require.

“ACAP is continuously working to ensure that clients have all of the necessary skills to be employable,” Benson said. “We are so fortunate to have the support of TD Bank as we assist clients allowing them to improve their financial security and stability.”
