CARIBOU, Maine — Caribou Police have issued a warrant for Franklin Price, 46, of Madawaska Lake in connection with a theft at the Caribou Community School construction site on Easter.
Police said Friday that contractors reported stolen tools, construction equipment and other items on April 12. Investigators later learned that the site had been compromised on at least two other occasions with no apparent forced entry.
Sgt. Keith Ouellette led the investigation, which led police to obtain a search warrant for Price’s Lakeshore Drive residence. Ouellette, along with Officer Kevin St. Peter and officers from the Maine State Police and Maine Warden Service, recovered a large amount of tools and property that allegedly belonged to several contractors and employees building the new school.
Caribou police are asking anyone with information about Price’s whereabouts, or his black 2006 Chevrolet Silverado with Maine registration 5392XF, to call the department at 207-493-3301.
Police suspect that there are more missing items and are still searching for numerous Bergen LED work lights,Model K6560.
“If you or someone you know purchased any of the Bergen LED work lights or other suspicious items from someone in Aroostook County recently, we are asking that you call the Caribou Police Department with no penalty,” Caribou Police Chief Michael Gahagan said. “Any person found to be in possession of the above item who knew it was stolen commits the crime of receiving stolen property, which is an arrestable offense.”
