MADAWASKA, Maine — NorState Federal Credit Union’s Music in the Park 2020 invited the Anah Temple Shrine Clowns to come to the St. John Valley on Saturday, May 16, to bring cheer and laughter to elderly shut-ins in local nursing homes, assisted living facilities and around town for the young and young-at-heart.
While the clowns didn’t go into any facilities, they paraded around outside and waved at residents who viewed the fun through their windows.
Jane Corbin Carter, Music in the Park organizer who worked with the Shriners to come bring cheer to the community, was on hand to joyfully hand over a $400 donation to NorState volunteers Kim Hebert, Tori Nacey and Danielle Danie, who went around with the Shriners, to ‘clown’ around for elder residents.
Thanks to the generosity of the Shriners, they donated their appearance earnings back to the credit union’s Ending Hunger Campaign.
