CARIBOU, Maine — Two vehicles collided at the Van Buren Road connector on Monday, just three days after a fatal crash in the same location, according to the Caribou Police Department.
Both vehicles were damaged enough that they were towed from the scene, and while there are possible injuries, nobody was taken to the hospital, Laura Adams, administrative assistant to Caribou police Department, said Wednesday.
The crash occurred at the intersection of the Van Buren road and connector at 6 p.m., when Cheryl Daigle of New Canada, driving a 2011 Toyota SUV, was westbound on the connector and stopped at the intersection. Zachary Tardy of New Sweden, driving a 1994 GMC pickup truck, was southbound on Van Buren Road.
Daigle said that she did not see Tardy’s vehicle and proceeded to cross the intersection, driving into the path of his GMC pickup, police reported.
The accident is under investigation as of June 10, Adams said.
