WASHBURN, Maine — Principal Larry Worcester along with the staff of Washburn District High School recently announced Delancy Koch as Student of the Month for March and Hannah White as Student of the Month for April.
Koch is a freshman at WDHS and the daughter of David and Angel Koch. She is part of the Gifted and Talented program, which Mrs. Molton oversees.
“Delancy is highly active in the GT Program and won $100 for a video play she wrote, produced and presented to ARGT advisors and students,” Molton said. “All the staff agree Delancy is a fantastic student who is always challenging herself, both in the classroom as well as our new distance or virtual learning.”
White is a sophomore at WDHS and the daughter of Matthew and Amy White. Though the month of April saw students learning from home rather than in the classroom, that didn’t stop Hannah for working hard and excelling in her classes.
Ms. Jones said Hannah has “excelled at remote learning,” and added, “She has even gone so far as to complete extra assignments to boost her grade. Hannah didn’t see this time away from school as a break, and has continued to prove her work ethic.” Faculty and staff congratulated both students on their hard work.
