WESTBROOK, Maine — The Board of Directors of the Jewish Cemetery Association of North America (JCANA) has elected Sherri Quint of Westbrook as the organization’s new chairman.
Quint, a native of Houlton, served as treasurer of JCANA for two years immediately prior to this appointment.
“I am very honored to be elected Chair of the Board of JCANA,” said Quint. “I’m fortunate to have the support of a dedicated and talented Board. We have a great vision for expanding our organization’s membership. As I begin my term, I plan to continue and expand upon the mission of JCANA’s original founders.”
Quint has been working for Temple Beth El in Portland, Maine for 11 years. In addition to her duties as controller, she is the director for its Memorial Park and is the treasurer and managing director for the Southern Maine Jewish Cemetery Association. She is also currently the financial director for Shaarey Tphiloh Synagogue, and bookkeeper for Hebrew Free Loan of Maine.
Quint has also been an active member of the Portland Chevra Kadisha since 2011 and is a Licensed Funeral Attendant in the state.

Sherri will continue to guide our organization to help members ensure their cemeteries receive the care and respect they deserve” said Lisa Vaeth, JCANA’s immediate past co-chairman and director of the Jewish Cemetery Association of Greater Hartford.
Jamie Cotel, JCANA’s immediate past co-chairman and executive director of the Jewish Cemetery Association of Massachusetts (JCAM) said, “Sherri is a dedicated professional who has an extensive background in all facets of cemetery preservation and management. She is a visionary who will undoubtedly take JCANA to the next level.”
