MADAWASKA, Maine — A Caribou car dealer was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence on Saturday after police were called to Lakeshore Road for a three-vehicle accident.
Madawaska Police said that Gary Gagnon, 51, of Caribou, was leaving a gathering of more than 150 people when he allegedly struck two parked cars.
Gagnon, owner of Gagnon’s Auto Sales in Caribou, was driving his one-out-of-250 limited edition 2020 Harley Davidson GMC pick-ups when he struck the two parked vehicles.
Officer Lucas Gendreau and Chief Ross Dubois arrested Gagnon without incident. He was taken to the police department where he reportedly blew a positive result for alcohol intoxication at .23 BAC, which is nearly three times the legal limit of 0.08.
Gagnon was released on bail and summonsed for a Sept. 9 court date in Madawaska.
Police said the repairs to the two parked cars alone will total somewhere in the $30,000 range. It is not yet known the total damage done to the limited edition GMC.
