NEW LIMERICK, Maine — While students are navigating the updated approach to schooling during a pandemic, LP Building Solutions is doing its part to help reduce the financial burden of tuition for 65 recipients.
Located across North America, this group of college students is comprised of children of employees of LP, a leading manufacturer of high-performance building products. In nearly two decades, LP has awarded over $2 million in scholarships to help more than 375 students complete their undergraduate college education.
Of the 65 scholarship recipients for the 2020-2021 academic year, four individuals represent LP’s Houlton location: Olivia Gallant, Eastern Maine Community College; Davan Thornton, University of Maine at Augusta, veterinary tech; Sydney Howell, University of Maine, communication sciences; and Keegan Gentle, Maine Maritime Academy.
LP has awarded more than $95,000 in scholarships to the children of LP employees for the 2020–2021 school year. The LP Scholarship Program awards recipients $1,500 per year for up to four years of full-time undergraduate study or until the student has completed their program, whichever occurs first, for a maximum award of $6,000 per student.
