HOULTON, Maine — A 10-year-old Houlton girl has added another crown to her impressive pageant collection.
Bailey Soucy, the daughter of Lori Soucy, was crowned the 2021 USA National Miss Maine Preteen during the 12th annual Maine Academic Scholarship Pageant (MASP) and Green Carpet Fundraiser Event for Crossroads Youth Center held at the DoubleTree Hotel in South Portland.
“I am so excited for this year to come,” Soucy said. “It may look different but I’m still excited. I have a wonderful group of sister queens that I can’t wait to get to know even more. I also am excited to go to the USA National Miss and represent the state of Maine and continue to promote the Crown Cares program.”
The Crown Cares program promotes awareness of and solutions for bullying.
A fifth grader at Houlton Southside School, Soucy is the co-president of her student council and has enjoyed studying dance at the Houlton School of Dance for the past six years. Along with the state title, she was awarded the Silver Presidential Award.
Soucy has received a total of four Presidential Awards for her community service hours. According to her mother, Soucy enjoys giving back to the community through community services and promoting the Crown Cares program. She previously held the title of USA National Miss Maine Princess in 2018.
Previously, Soucy has won the 2018 USA National Miss Maine Princess and 2021 USA National Miss Maine Preteen. She has held two state titles and four local titles during her four years of pageant competition.
