MARS HILL, Maine — Madawaska High School won the 2020 Aroostook League County Championship in Mars Hill Monday, after impressive performances from each of the six-member team.
A total of 33 players from seven schools participated in Monday’s contest, played at the Mars Hill Country Club, each playing 18 holes. Madawaska scored 370, while Central Aroostook came in second at 398. Fort Fairfield, Ashland Southern Aroostook, Hodgdon and Fort Kent also participated in the meet.
Central Aroostook’s Stetson Nicholas was the medalist on the day, shooting 85 over 18 holes. Cameron Desrosier led Madawaska — shooting 88 — while his teammate Ian Beaulieu was not far behind, shooting a 90.
Fort Fairfield won last year’s championship with Chasey Coiley, who shot a 92 on Monday, leading in individual performance. Four out of Madawaska’s six players were in the top 10 for the day.

Individual Central Aroostook results were: Stetson Nicholas, 85; Will Durost, 93; Wyatt Allen, 108; Abram McCrum, 118; Taylor Bradstreet, 112; Kobe Honeycutt, 114; and Colby Novak, 126.
Individual Fort Fairfield results were: Chase Coiley, 92; Jonah Bernard, 95; Blake Senal, 120; and Phoebe Solomon, 124.
Individual Ashland results were: Alden Routhier, 103; Micah Calhoun, 110; Ellie Calhoun, 115; Clyde Hafford, 116; and Benny Davis, 126.
Individual Southern Aroostook results were: Camden Porter, 115; Parker Skinner, 115; Kobe MacArthur, 118; and Connor Walker, 121.
Individual Hodgdon results were: Montana Hoops, 118; Joseph Griffin, 122; Caleb Tuttle, 125; and Jean Luc Desrosiers, 126.
Individual Fort Kent results were: Kayden Theriault, 96; Sam Albert, 97; and Alex Nadeau, 115.
