HOULTON, Maine — The Salvation Army of Houlton is once again looking to assist families in need in Aroostook County.
For 132 years, the Salvation Army has maintained a tradition of providing assistance to families, both at Christmas and throughout the year.
“If you or someone you know lives in the Houlton Area and are in need of assistance, please bring an I.D. for each member of the family, such as a birth certificate or Medicare or Mainecare Card, proof of residence and income and expenses to see if you may qualify,” Envoy/Pastor Frank Nataluk said.
Applications are available and interviews will be done between Oct. 19-23 and again Nov. 4-6 from 9 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. Due to limited staff and resources, no applications will be accepted after these dates without evidence of an emergency.
Supporters wishing to help those in need can call for an Angel Tree information packet. Volunteer bell ringers are also desired starting Nov. 19 through Dec. 24.
