CARIBOU, Maine — The Caribou City Office reopened to the public on Tuesday, Oct. 13, after closing last week because of a potential exposure to COVID-19.
The city announced via social media on Monday, Oct. 12 that, after additional cleaning procedures and COVID-19 testing, offices in the building will be open to the public on Tuesday. The post added that, with one confirmed case of the virus in the city, visitors and residents should continue washing their hands, wearing a mask, practicing social distancing, and staying home if they feel sick.
The office was closed to the public for nearly a week after the city announced on Oct. 7 that they would be closing immediately due to potential exposure in the city clerk’s office.
At that time, Caribou City Clerk Danielle Brissette said nobody in the office showed signs or symptoms of the virus, but that they would all be tested the following day in an effort to err on the side of caution.
