FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine — Students from SAD 20 in Fort Fairfield will learn remotely for at least one week while people from the district quarantine due to COVID-19 exposure.
On Monday, Superintendent Tim Doak said that the district would utilize the “red,” or fully remote, model of learning from Jan. 4 to 8. The decision was made as a precautionary measure after “a number of individuals” went into quarantine after coming into contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
Doak’s memo did not indicate how many people are quarantining and whether they are district employees, students or parents. He noted that an update will be provided to the school community on Friday.
The Fort Fairfield Recreation Department also announced on its Facebook page that all after-school activities are canceled until further notice.
