MARS HILL, Maine — “Let Kindness Reign” was the theme of the 2021 Little Miss and Junior Miss Mars Hill pageants held on Saturday, May 15, which saw Shea Chandler Birmingham crowned Little Miss and Julia Blythe Pierce as Junior Miss.
Following an open number to “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile,” the casual wear portion of the pageant was held.
Previous title holders made appearances during the event. 2019 Miss Mars Hill Mersaydez Johnston entertained the audience with “Me and Bobbie Magee,” 2019 Little Miss Piper Woollard danced to “Fall on Me” and 2019 Junior Miss Mars Hill Delaney McKeen sang “1,000 Years.”
Contestant number 1 was Polly Rose Bell, daughter of Kramer and Mindy Bell. She danced to “Happy Dance” by MercyMe as her talent.
Contestant number 2 was Serenity Grace Ouellet, daughter of Samantha Rqmelli and Daniel Ouellet. She sang “This Little Light of Mine” and was named first runner-up.
Contestant number 3 was Birmingham, daughter of Ethan and Megan Birmingham. Her talent was a dance to “The Middle” by Jillian Edwards.
Contestant number 4 was Makayla Leigh Woodworth, daughter of Jason and Samantha Woodworth. She sang “Lost Boy” by Ruth B. as her talent.
Contestant number 5 was Julia Blythe Pierce, daughter of Scott and Ami Pierce. She performed a lyrical dance to “Only Love” by Jordan Smith as her talent. In addition to the junior miss crown, she was named Miss Congeniality.
