All local schools are out, and that means Junior Golf has kicked off another season. This year we have had a great group of kids turn out to learn golf. Please note through August the course will be closed on Mondays, through Aug. 10, from 8:30-11 a.m. to allow the next generation of golfers to play and learn at their own pace.
Last week was the final week of another successful Golf For Life program. They learned everything from driving, chipping, putting, and course etiquette. We will be holding a GFL Scramble on July 11. These are fantastic events where we pair up GFL participants with other golfers. More on this soon.
The bunker project is really taking shape, a big improvement to the course for sure. A big shout out to Randy Lincoln for taking charge of the bunker renovation project. He has been working tirelessly for the past few weeks hauling dirt, sod, sand.
The landscaping committee (Jane York, Liz Anderson, Marion Collins, Sharon O’Donnell) with the help of many others (Bob and Harriet Gray, Mike and Martha Fasulo, Larry Holmes, Pam and Ray Mailman, Lucas Anderson, Daniel Peabody, Larry Holmes, Brittany Benn, Randy Lincoln, Brenda Carmen, Sean Dolomont) have been out working on the golf course, and it truly shows. All of the gardens have been weeded and freshly mulched. The flowers have been planted. The newest addition are the rocks near the driveway replacing where the shrubs used to be. The course is looking amazing, and it is thanks to this group.
The next two tournaments are the Mucho Moolah 2 Person Scramble June 26, and the Alumni Scramble July 3. Make sure to sign up today with the clubhouse by calling 207-532-2662.
