CARIBOU, Maine — A fire that started late Wednesday night engulfed a home on Van Buren Road in Caribou, with firefighters taking more than four hours to extinguish the blaze.
The fire started sometime around midnight, between the night of June 23 and early morning of June 24, according to Caribou firefighter Ryan Hall. The residential house was vacant at the time of the fire, and the cause was still unknown Thursday afternoon.
In addition to Caribou, fire departments from Limestone, Presque Isle, Washburn and Stockholm also assisted in extinguishing the fire.
